Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. Join a fast‑moving, highly collaborative team supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations and the expansion of our new Boise manufacturing facility. Our team plays a critical role in enabling factory uptime, engineering productivity, and safe, reliable operations. We work hands‑on across a rapidly growing environment, solving complex challenges that keep advanced manufacturing running efficiently. Position Overview We are seeking a Mid‑Level Network Engineer who thrives as an independent individual contributor and owns technical execution within established project and operational scopes. This role is ideal for an engineer ready to take on increased responsibility while continuing to grow deep expertise across enterprise and manufacturing network environments. This is a primarily onsite role requiring regular presence in campus facilities, communications rooms, and production environments.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure support.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP/VXLAN, and Cisco switching technologies (IOS/NX‑OS).
  • Experience with firewall configurations, VPNs, and general network security principles.
  • Previous support experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead tasks and communicate effectively across multi-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNA, CCNP, Arista ACE, or equivalent industry certification.
  • Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible or Python.
  • Exposure to OT networks, SCADA systems, or industrial communication protocols.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support for campus LAN and wireless infrastructure across manufacturing and office environments; including participation in on call rotations, serving as a critical issue resource within assigned scope.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and manage lifecycle support for campus switches, access points, wireless LAN controllers, and related hardware/software.
  • Perform advanced issue resolution and configuration of switching technologies (VLANs, trunking, STP, PoE, port security) and wireless RF/coverage issues.
  • Implement approved network changes and small projects, including switch deployments, wireless upgrades, VLAN additions, and network expansions.
  • Support Cisco and Arista based environments, including participation in designs using EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, and EIGRP.
  • Respond to network incidents, alarms, and service requests, driving fixes through resolution and raising only complex issues. Use network monitoring tools to identify issues, analyze trends, and support root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Perform physical deployment tasks including racking, cabling, labeling, and decommissioning of network equipment.
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and runbooks, and collaborate with multi-functional teams such as IT Operations, Facilities, Security, Server, and Manufacturing IT to deliver reliable connectivity.
