The IT Programmer will perform the analysis of current and proposed business information needs and modify existing information systems or design and implement new systems, to meet those needs.

Requirements

  • Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent. Three years’ experience preferred.
  • Administrative supervision of technical functions.
  • Supervise highly diversified operations and/or procedures. Formulate new approaches.
  • Supervise diversified operations or procedures. Apply several available methods. Requires analysis and adaptation.
  • Light physical effort. May require walking, bending, standing and/or sitting throughout shift.
  • Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Use systems analysis techniques to analyze and evaluate existing information systems, or requests for new systems, hardware, and software, as assigned.
  • Make recommendations to the Information Systems Manager, as required.
  • Communicate and explain company policies, procedures and programs to employees and perform periodic audits to ensure compliance and proper use of information systems.
  • Assist with the development of the department budget and administer and control the approved budget during the business year.
  • Maintain information systems by updating existing programs or developing new programs.
  • Provide user support for applications developed by the department.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate project plan for assigned projects.
  • Regularly report progress and activities to the Information Systems Manager.
  • Train users of new and existing systems how to use the system correctly and effectively.
  • Assist information systems staff with the resolution of general software and hardware support requests, as necessary.
