We currently have an opening for an IT Project Manager I The Project Manager position will work on IT projects for various State agencies in North Carolina. This position is instrumental in enabling our customers to make a difference in the lives of the people of the State. This position will be part of the NC DIT Project Management Office and will be responsible for leading moderately complex to more extensive IT project management work. About the Division: The Project Management Office (PMO) provides statewide technology solutions for state and local governments in North Carolina. Presently, PMO is divided into one operational service domain with the following business focal areas: Project Management Services – provides customers with experienced, Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, IT project managers for leading agency IT projects. The PM service utilizes a consistent approach for IT project management that is based upon the methods, techniques and best practices defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) for IT project management. IT Project managers have experience in the areas of business case analysis, business process re-engineering, application development, and infrastructure development/deployment. This service domain has a Director, Manager or Team Leader who is responsible for the day-to-day operations and supervision of staff members. The Project Manager reports to the Director of the Project Management Office who is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the PMO.
