About The Position

The IT Purchasing & Vendor Manager is responsible for overseeing procurement activities, vendor relationships, purchasing workflows, and inventory coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient operations. This role manages supplier sourcing, contract and pricing negotiations, purchase order execution, and procurement systems while partnering closely with the Warehouse Manager to align purchasing decisions with inventory needs and operational demand.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles (IT or technology environment preferred).
  • Strong vendor management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with ConnectWise Manage (strongly preferred) for purchasing and procurement workflows.
  • Experience working alongside warehouse or inventory operations teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an MSP, CSP, or IT services environment strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of hardware lifecycle management and/or software licensing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Source suppliers, obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and issue purchase orders.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and pricing agreements.
  • Manage vendor contracts, renewals, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, pricing validation, and order confirmations.
  • Maintain purchasing approval workflows and cost-control measures.
  • Oversee procurement workflows within ConnectWise Manage .
  • Monitor hardware, software, and subscription renewals to avoid service disruptions.
  • Partner with the Warehouse Manager to support receiving, warehousing, and distribution needs.
  • Align purchasing cycles with operational demand and inventory levels.
  • Review stock control reports and reconcile with inventory management systems.
  • Monitor aging inventory and minimize excess or dead stock.
  • Support compliance with warehousing, handling, and shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate delivery timelines and ensure timely arrival of materials and equipment.
  • Communicate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers regarding order status.
  • Produce purchasing and inventory reports (IN/OUT status, aging inventory, vendor performance).
  • Collaborate with Finance to support cost tracking and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and vendor efficiency.
