(Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply) Role Overview: The Technical IT Site Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex technical projects supporting federal government customers, including Veterans Affairs (VA) programs. This role leads cross-functional technical teams through the full project lifecycle, from project initiation and requirements analysis through deployment, integration, and sustainment. The position serves as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with operational and technical requirements. The role requires strong technical leadership, project management expertise, and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and facilities in highly regulated government environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical projects or systems integrations in a government or enterprise environment.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills with experience managing technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or systems simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating with technical stakeholders, engineers, architects, and support teams.
  • Ability to obtain a Veterans Affairs Public Trust
  • U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mid- to large-scale technical teams supporting federal customers throughout the full project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and stakeholders regarding project status, technical issues, and deliverables.
  • Oversee project localization and implementation activities across multiple VA sites and facilities.
  • Manage multiple moderate to highly complex systems or projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with customers and business stakeholders to identify business requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
  • Document project objectives, technical requirements, and deliverables, including impacted systems, devices, locations, and users.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and implementation plans.
  • Create and manage integration plans, build plans, and resource estimates.
  • Identify and evaluate potential project risks, including operational impacts to patient care environments and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements.
  • Monitor projects for scope creep and implement corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Maintain compliance with company, VA, and federal policies, procedures, and security requirements.
  • Work closely with ITD resources, architects, engineers, and technical support teams to resolve technical issues during the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate technical solutions with engineering teams and ensure alignment with system architecture and customer requirements.
  • Support daily project coordination through technical status meetings, daily huddles, and stakeholder updates.
  • Track project progress and performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and roadblocks to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Produce required project documentation and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide progress reports and status updates as defined by project governance processes.
  • Participate in internal initiatives to improve project delivery methodology, integration practices, and operational efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts that scale technical delivery and implement best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
