About The Position

We’re hiring an IT Support Specialist (Modern Workplace) to work at our Houston, TX office. This position reports to the IT Manager and will be a member of our global IT team. The IT Specialist will focus on delivering excellent end‑user support while administering core Microsoft 365 services. You’ll handle day‑to‑day administration across Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, and endpoint security—partnering with senior engineers on security, automation, and platform improvements. This role blends front‑line support with hands‑on M365 administration in a modern, Zero Trust‑aligned environment. This position requires after‑hours support on a rotational basis that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years’ experience administering, designing, troubleshooting hardware/software in MS 365 or Modern Workplace environments
  • Experience supporting in-office and remote employees.
  • Proficient using ITSM ticketing system, MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to include working independently.
  • Strong technical writing and effective verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
  • Experience with Exchange Online, Teams/SharePoint governance, and email security (SPF/DKIM/DMARC).
  • Exposure to Purview (DLP/labels/retention), access reviews, PIM usage.
  • Familiarity with Git/source control, and basic KQL/Log Analytics.
  • Microsoft certifications such as MD‑102 (Endpoint Admin) and/or MS‑102 (M365 Admin).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for incidents and requests (hardware, software, SaaS), delivering timely, high‑quality resolutions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows 11 laptops/desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Own ticket lifecycle and change procedures via ITSM (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira), with clear documentation and communications.
  • Administer Entra ID objects (users, groups), basic RBAC, and support Conditional Access updates under established standards.
  • Manage Intune device lifecycle: Autopilot deployments, compliance policies, configuration profiles, patch rings, and Proactive Remediations.
  • Support Exchange Online tasks (mailboxes, shared mailboxes, DLs/Groups, mail flow rules) and Teams/SharePoint governance (guest access, external sharing, naming).
  • Assist with SPF/DKIM/DMARC upkeep and anti‑spam/anti‑phishing tuning under guidance.
  • Support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint/M365 operations: alert triage, device onboarding, policy adjustments, and remediation.
  • Assist with Purview (DLP, sensitivity labels, retention policies) and eDiscovery tasks as directed.
  • Resolve access reviews and Privileged Identify Management (PIM) activations.
  • Use PowerShell and Microsoft Graph (via Graph PowerShell SDK) to automate routine tasks and generate health/compliance reports.
  • Contribute to version‑controlled configuration exports (e.g., Intune JSON) and runbooks.
  • Monitor service health and capacity, maintain dashboards/alerts, and contribute to problem management.
