About The Position

The IT Support Specialist provides software and hardware support and resolves technical problems related to general functioning of computers and network equipment in a variety of IT areas. This position is responsible for computer equipment configuration and implementation as well as staff support, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and execution of IT initiatives. This is a full-time, non-exempt role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent IT-related experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience preferred in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and competency navigating network systems i.e. Windows Server/Desktop, Windows Active Directory, Mac OS X, and O365 required
  • Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work unsupervised
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with diverse staff and volunteers
  • Strong knowledge of how to install and maintain hardware, operating systems, networks, and software applications in a business setting
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
  • Requires moderate lifting up to 40 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Manage device assets, including tagging, inventory tracking, and lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reported issues with hardware such as printers, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform regular updates on devices, including operating system (Windows), productivity tools (Microsoft), and specialized applications.
  • Serve as a co-administrator on key organizational systems, including: Phone and communications system (Elevate) Physical access control system (Verkada) Cloud administration and productivity suite (Microsoft Admin Center) Email security and filtering system (Mimecast) Virtual server/hosting environment (RapidScale) Directory services and user account management system (Windows Active Directory)
  • Support new hire setup and terminations, managing hardware and software access.
  • Provision and deprovision hardware, including key fobs, phones/headsets, and laptops.
  • Manage software account access, including faxing (Faxage), conferencing (Zoom), email and calendaring (Outlook), and archiving systems.
  • Configure and manage security credentials, including alarm codes.
  • Performs other related IT duties, assignments, and special projects as needed.
