Leidos is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the IT Systems Administration Specialist position for the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. This position is located near Lackland Air Force Base; all work is onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, information security or related field and 8+ years of prior relevant work experience or a Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD clearance at the Top-Secret/SCI level
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification or other DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Experience managing virtual machines and VMware ESXi.
  • At least 3 years Linux and/or Windows familiarity.
  • Ability to maintain servers, create monitoring reports and logs, and ensure functionality of systems.
  • Knowledge of defense-in-depth principles, Network and Security architecture, network topology, IT device integrity, and common security elements.
  • Experience configuring network devices.
  • An understanding and in-depth knowledge of IP network/subnet addressing.
  • Experience developing and presenting technical information to team lead.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco enterprise network routing, switching and firewall/security devices.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts in virtualized environments.
  • Effective written and oral communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10%+ CONUS travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge of network engineering and operations, integration, test and evaluation activities, as well as implementation and transition to Network Operations processes and concepts.
  • Experience with VDI technologies.
  • Experience and with and practical understanding of enterprise WAN principles.
  • Experience with change, configuration and performance management NetOps concepts.
  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or COMPTIA Network+ certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of diverse server systems encompassing Windows, Linux, and Appliances, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Team Lead to meticulously identify, assess, and present viable options for meeting functional and technical requirements, encompassing both hardware and software solutions, fostering informed decision-making.
  • Efficiently manage and configure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, optimizing user experience and resource utilization to meet organizational objectives effectively.
  • Document and rigorously enforce hardware standards to uphold consistency, reliability, and compatibility across server infrastructure, enhancing efficiency and minimizing potential vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of IP addressing schema, ensuring logical and efficient allocation of network resources, promoting scalability and streamlined communication.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer networking systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Assist in cabling and network setup for various IT infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain, service, and repair switch, computer hardware, peripherals, and software.
  • Execute comprehensive security hardening measures, timely patching, and server certificate updates, while also leveraging expertise in Cloud technologies to bolster resilience and adaptability in the infrastructure.
  • Develop meticulous documentation for System Installation Plans and System Administration Guides, empowering stakeholders with clear, accessible resources for system setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Fulfill additional tasks as directed by Lead Engineers or Project Managers, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to contribute to the team's success across various initiatives.
  • Provide transparent and regular status updates in the requested format, fostering clear communication and alignment with project milestones and objectives, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and engaged throughout the process.
