About The Position

The IT Systems Technician provides hands-on, on-site support for business systems and end users, focusing on maintaining reliable IT operations and minimizing downtime. This is a user-facing role designed for someone who can manage day-to-day technology issues independently while coordinating with the IT Manager and a third-party Managed Service Provider (MSP) for escalations and cybersecurity support. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, physically capable professional who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with users, and performing hands-on technical work in a dynamic environment. This position works closely with other departments to ensure SIRE continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and/or relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications with equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in IT support or systems administration
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft platforms
  • Familiarity with Ethernet and fiber cabling standards and installation practices
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate effectively with end users
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with others and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support for employees, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices
  • Support user account management, onboarding, offboarding, and access changes
  • Troubleshoot system, application, and network connectivity issues
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of Ethernet and fiber cabling
  • Deploy, move, and maintain IT equipment as needed
  • Coordinate escalations and follow-ups with the MSP
  • Assist with routine system maintenance, updates, and IT projects
  • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
