About The Position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an IT Technical Writer to support mission-critical communications and technology initiatives. This role will develop and maintain clear, accurate, and mission-aligned documentation that enhances operational readiness and supports evolving technical landscapes. This position will be onsite in Newington, VA!

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience in IT, cybersecurity, or defense environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with SharePoint and content management systems
Familiarity with DoD documentation standards
Ability to interpret and translate complex technical information into clear, concise documentation
Strong understanding of version control and document lifecycle management
Excellent grammar, formatting, and editing skills
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and military personnel to translate complex technical processes into clear documentation
Develop and maintain user manuals, system guides, and SOPs for mission-critical systems
Identify gaps in existing documentation and resolve communication challenges impacting operational efficiency
Operate in a fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance with Army and DoD standards
Utilize tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Visio to produce high-quality deliverables
Ensure adherence to MIL-STD and DoD documentation guidelines
