The primary duties and responsibilities of the Janitor consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Janitor will develop, with the Maintenance Manager a routine cleaning schedule for the offices and manufacturing building and any grounds area as assigned including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning and servicing restrooms including timely disposal of rubbish and waste materials in proper containers by hand or with the use of powered equipment. Knowledge of each department location and leader in the department to be able to interface with any routine scheduled cleaning. Must be capable of performing job duties/responsibilities with very little supervision. Responsible for the inventory of various supplies and cleaning products needed to perform scheduled cleaning, and notifying Maintenance Manager to re-order supplies, and using/disposing of cleaning products according to manufactures instructions. Required to be versed in plant safety procedures such as: Hazard Communication Program (Safety Data Sheets), proper lifting and bending procedures, accident prevention, personal protective equipment, bloodborne pathogens, basic electrical safety, plant evacuation routes, safe use of cleaning equipment, and the safety concerns of co-workers & visitors for wet floors and electrical cords. Periodically will perform work that does not pertain to job function such as, but not limited to: work production line, breaking machines, secondary work responsibilities. Perform monthly safety audits/inspections of fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and bug lights, other periotic safety audits as assigned.
