We are currently looking for a: Kennywood - Janitorial Supervisor Roles & Responsibilities: The Janitorial Supervisor assists with the daily management of all cleaning and general upkeep for park restrooms, offices, and other assigned indoor and outdoor areas. This position provides direct supervision to other housekeeping team members, while also engaging in duties that include but are not limited to managing cleanliness levels throughout the park, proactively resolving park presentation issues, and ensuring the continuous operation of the housekeeping team. Roles & Responsibilities: Supervisory Duties: Supervise the daily operations of the Park Housekeeping team and any other assigned departments Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Kennywood’s core values Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all housekeeping positions and backfill these positions when needed Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline. Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities Departmental Duties: Responsible for the cleaning and general maintenance of park restrooms, office spaces, and other assigned indoor and outdoor areas of the park. Provide exceptional guest service by assisting guests with their questions or issues Ensure that public and office areas are cleaned and disinfected on a scheduled rotating basis. Manage cleaning-related projects and initiatives and ensure that these are completed in a timely manner. Assist with the cleaning and disinfecting of public and office areas, when needed Continuously monitor all indoor and outdoor spaces for safety hazards (e.g. water puddles, tripping hazards, etc.) Monitor and immediately escalate any damages or safety hazards to maintenance or leadership Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Maintain records of all work completed and safety inspections. Inspect equipment to ensure conformance with operational standards. Monitor and stock cleaning supplies, tools, and chemicals. All other duties assigned by leadership Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; Equivalent work experience will also be considered 2+ year of previous housekeeping or custodial experience desired 1+ years of previous supervisory experience preferred Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to work at the park during non-operating hours, including late evenings or the hours prior to the park opening each day. Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment Ability to comply with all uniform policies Must possess a strong attention to detail, to quickly notice objects and areas around the property that require attention. Ability to make safety a priority and use the proper PPE when utilizing certain types of equipment or working in certain areas Must be able to safely and expertly operate a variety of cleaning tools and ladders Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with all park guidelines Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of time Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday Ability to work in non-conventional areas of the property, including working outside, on scaffolds, or on ladders Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to all outdoor and indoor areas of the park Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions Subject to constant repetitive motion Subject to frequent use of ladders, step ladders, or scaffolds Frequent exposure to dust, dirt, and chemical cleaning agents Subject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations.
