About The Position

SMX is seeking a highly experienced Joint Operations Center Analyst (JOCA) – Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide advanced operational and intelligence support to a fast-paced, high-impact special operations mission environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of joint/combined operations, crisis response, and intelligence fusion, ensuring mission commanders receive timely and accurate situational awareness and support for real-world and contingency operations. This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts. Application Deadline: March 30, 2026.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in intelligence, national security, military operations, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience supporting operations or intelligence in a joint, combined, or interagency environment
  • Direct experience working in a Joint Operations Center, Watch, Fusion Cell, or similar operational command post
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, synthesize, and communicate complex operational and intelligence data
  • Experience briefing senior leaders and producing high-quality written and visual operational products

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME and primary point of contact for operational and intelligence activities in a 24/7 joint operations center
  • Provide expert all-source analysis, operational recommendations, and situational awareness to commanders and mission planners
  • Fuse real-time reporting from multiple intelligence and operational sources to develop comprehensive common operational pictures
  • Draft, edit, and present briefings, operational summaries, situation reports (SITREPs), and threat assessments to senior leaders
  • Coordinate with interagency, military, and partner nation representatives to ensure accuracy and timely information flow
  • Monitor and assess evolving operational environments, anticipating and identifying emerging threats, risks, and opportunities
  • Lead or advise on crisis action response, mission planning, and special tasking as required by the command center
  • Support the implementation and refinement of joint center standard operating procedures (SOPs), training, and exercise programs
