About The Position

Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET) - a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC Company, is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician for our Automation Department who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service to our company, clients, and employees. Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States. At AET, we are a premier West Coast Commercial, industrial electrical contractor, control, and automation group. The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and automated control systems. This role will working a variety of industrial products involving PLC’s, motor controls, instrumentation, and automated equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can work independently in the field while maintaining strong safety and equality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License required and the ability to be insured under the company’s driving insurance plan.
  • Valid 01 WA State Journeyman License required at minimum. WA License and equivalent OR Journeyman License highly preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical work with a focus in automation in industrial environment(s).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently in industrial environments.
  • Experience working with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Familiarity with VFDs, instrumentation, and process control.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial facilities, and/or process plants.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems and automation equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams.
  • Install conduit, cable trays, wiring, and electrical panels.
  • Perform terminations for motors, sensors, control devices, and instrumentation.
  • Complete installation and commissioning of automated equipment and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, sensors, VFDs, and automated machinery.
  • Work with control panels, relay logic, and motor control systems.
  • Support upgrades and modification to automated systems.
  • Diagnose electrical and automation system failures.
  • Use testing equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and diagnostic software.
  • Identify root causes of system issues and implement effective repairs.
  • Follow all electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform work in accordance with NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, technicians, and operations team.
  • Support project commissioning and startup activities.
  • Provide guidance to apprentices and technicians when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
