About The Position

Summary Description: We are seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our skilled team. In this role, you will independently install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test electrical systems and equipment while ensuring full compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70), OSHA safety standards, and client specifications. This position offers opportunities to work on varied projects and contribute to the reliability of the electrical systems in our facility.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license required.
  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician, preferably in commercial and/or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E (arc flash), and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with industrial/commercial systems, including motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, and low-voltage installations.
  • Skilled in conduit work, wire pulling, termination, troubleshooting, and use of electrical testing instruments.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions while using PPE.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial automation, control panels, hazardous locations, or fire alarm/security systems.
  • Familiarity with UL 508A panel building or control system integration.
  • Basic computer skills for work order systems, email, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, maintain, and test electrical wiring, systems, fixtures, equipment, and controls in our facilities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical drawings to plan and execute work.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, install, and pull wire and cable through conduit, raceways, ducts, and other pathways.
  • Install and terminate wiring in panels, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, distribution boards, junction boxes, outlets, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Perform conduit bending, installation of raceways, supports, and fittings for power, lighting, control, and low-voltage systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing equipment (multimeters, meggers, clamp meters, etc.) to diagnose faults in circuits, motors, controls, VFDs, PLC interfaces, and other systems.
  • Repair or replace defective components such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, relays, motors, starters, contactors, transformers, and wiring.
  • Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of electrical systems, including grounding, bonding, insulation resistance, continuity, load balancing, and power quality checks.
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, local codes, and UL/NFPA standards; perform quality checks and document work as required.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, threaders, lifts, bucket trucks, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, inspectors, and team members to coordinate work, resolve issues, and provide updates.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, arc flash protection, fall protection, and confined space procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, time logs, and completed work; prepare sketches or as-built drawings when needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or emergency response as required for service and repair work.
