About The Position

Main Purpose: The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of plant power and control systems, troubleshooting electrical issues and performing preventative maintenance. Essential Functions: Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring and equipment Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and electrical diagrams Bend and install conduit effectively and safely Pull wire and wire circuits, including 4-way switch configurations Integrate transformers and connect 3-phase motors Work with 208V and 480V electrical panels Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and company safety policies Diagnose electrical malfunctions and make necessary repairs or replacements Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), control panels, motors and other electrical components Assist with power distribution and ensure proper grounding and circuit protection Collaborate with engineers, maintenance personnel and other team members to support plant operations Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance and installations Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Louisiana or Local Journeyman Electrician Certification
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC), safety regulations and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLCs, motor controls and automation systems preferred
