About The Position

CACI is responsible for providing comprehensive Integrated Product Support (IPS) services for the Tactical Integrated Ground Suite (TIGS) System of Systems (SoS). These services cover a range of support categories including management, engineering, maintenance, supply, data, training, continuous support, infrastructure, logistics, and personnel. The primary objective of these diverse services is to ensure warfighting readiness across the globe by increasing the operational availability and mission effectiveness of all currently deployed and future TIGS SoS. The Journeyman Systems Engineer is responsible for applying interdisciplinary engineering skills in technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for complex solutions or products. These solutions or products typically encompass non-information technology related engineering or scientific disciplines and may require hardware, aerospace, communications, cyber, electrical, manufacturing, mechanical, or other specialized engineering domain knowledge. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field
  • 2 – 6 years of Systems Engineering experience
  • Active Secret clearance at the time of application, with the ability to obtain upgrade to TS/SCI
  • Strong technical writing skills (reports, procedures, briefings)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with DoD customers
  • Knowledge of MBSE modeling tools
  • Certification: INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification
  • Experience conducting trade studies and technical decision evaluations

Responsibilities

  • Support development of open system architecture for ground-based SATCOM system, including interface definitions and system decomposition
  • Develop and review systems engineering artifacts including System Requirements Verification Matrix (SRVM), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System/Subsystem Requirements Specifications (SRS), and technical specifications
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering (DE) methodologies to system design, analysis, and requirements traceability
  • Review and validate technical documentation including test plans, procedures, integration reports, and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain effective communication with government customers, end-users, and technical stakeholders
  • Support system integration activities across RF, software, and IT subsystems including antenna control, SDR interfaces, and network architecture
  • Participate in technical reviews, trade studies, and risk assessments to support informed design decisions
