The Jr. Analyst is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of U.S. and Canadian payroll tax returns, deposits, and reconciliations. This includes leveraging designated HRMS (Workday), ADP SmartCompliance, query/report-writing tools, and Excel. Scope includes state and local payroll tax obligations in the U.S. and federal and provincial payroll tax obligations in Canada for 20+ legal entities. This role requires conducting independent research and providing timely responses to inquiries and notices from various tax authorities using the appropriate governmental websites. Responsibilities also include preparing amended returns. The Jr. Analyst will research and respond to routine payroll tax and compliance issues, managing cases through the ticketing system. The Jr. Analyst ensures all tax reconciliations, returns, and deposits are completed, filed, and paid by established deadlines. The role also includes analyzing multi‑state payroll tax data and performing calculations to confirm accurate reporting to government agencies. The Jr. Analyst must follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies at all times to ensure compliance and minimize organizational risk. The role requires effective communication with teams across HR Services to ensure customer service SLAs are consistently met or exceeded. Strong computer and analytical skills are required, particularly within a Windows environment, including proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
