About The Position

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, has an immediate need for a Junior Accountant to work in a team environment to assist the other accounting staff and the Controller. This person must be able to perform basic accounting functions, work well with others, and serve as a key support member on the accounting team. This full-time position requires occasional evening and weekend work due to month-end close responsibilities and deadlines. The successful candidate will report to our Gainesville, Virginia office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Recent college graduate or 0-5 years’ experience
Basic knowledge of automated accounting systems (will train on SAP S/4 software)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Detail and results oriented, self-starter, organized, and able to multitask with a high-volume workload
Able to work in both a team setting and independently in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional internal and external customer service with a positive attitude
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Reliable individual that is dedicated to quality performance
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Data entry
A/R processing and collections
Billing assistance
Contract review and project set up
Assist with office administration tasks
Assist with month-end/year-end close and internal reporting
Other tasks as requested by senior staff
