For our MOM team, we are currently looking for a Junior Application Engineer . MOM stands for Manufacturing Operations Management (formerly often referred to as MES). The team is mainly focused on digitizing, eliminating paper processes, and automating administrative workflows on the factory floor; providing and enriching the link between databases and ERP systems on the one hand, and automation systems on the other; controlling peripheral equipment; reporting; and dashboarding. Projects from A-Z, this is how we do it! At Contec, we deliver projects from A to Z. Depending on the project, you will either work independently or as part of a team to meet the client's digitalization requirements. Assignments vary widely, so it is important that you are deeply interested in software development and in understanding industrial and administrative processes.

Requirements

  • You have a higher degree focused on Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar
  • You feel comfortable working in a project-based environment
  • You think proactively and solve problems effectively
  • You are assertive, communicative and customer-oriented
  • You have a driver’s license
  • You speak and write English fluently
  • You can work both independently and in a team
  • You are familiar with AS‑IS/TO‑BE processes, ROI, gap analyses, requirements analysis, and re‑engineering
  • Knowledge of these technologies is a requirement: SQL (T-SQL) GIT

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Event Storming, or UML is a plus
  • Affinity with concepts within the manufacturing or process environment such as OEE, SPC, CIL, CIP and lean is a plus
  • Knowledge of these technologies is a plus: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript C# Automated testing Notion of industrial communication protocols such as OPC, MQTT...

Responsibilities

  • As an application engineer, you serve as the bridge between the client and the Contec proprietary MOM application (CPMS). Using input from the client and the functional analyst, complex procedures are prototyped and implemented in the application.
  • Listening carefully and understanding customer processes is essential.
  • Using best practices and coaching, you guide colleagues and delegate tasks during software development. We strongly believe in knowledge sharing to help each other grow.
  • You prepare functional test plans for internal testing as well as customer acceptance testing.
  • You configure and set up in-house developed MOM systems for the customer
  • You provide support to the customer regarding installed software modules.
