About The Position

The Junior Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is integral to pulling, analyzing, and presenting data from our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and other platforms to inform clinical care, optimize revenue cycle performance, and support fundraising efforts of The Floating Hospital Foundation. Clinical and Operational: Extract and analyze data from the EHR (AthenaOne and Dentrix Enterprise) to support quality improvement, care coordination, and compliance initiatives. Collaborate with clinicians and care teams to develop dashboards and reports that inform patient care, population health management and other needs. Monitor key clinical performance indicators such as appointment utilization, follow-up adherence, screening compliance, and disease outcomes. Revenue Cycle: Provide data analysis to support billing efficiency, claims reconciliation, payer mix evaluations, and reimbursement trends. Work with finance and administrative staff to identify and address revenue concerns or workflow inefficiencies using data insights. Development and Foundation: Partner with Foundation to provide data on patient demographics, service volumes, and impact metrics to inform grant proposals, donor reporting, and fundraising campaigns. Generate compelling data visualizations and impact reports that help tell the story of the organization’s mission and outcomes to external stakeholders and prospective donors. Data Management & Infrastructure: Maintain data integrity and validation protocols when working with data from EHR and other systems (e.g., donor management platforms, CRMs, financial software). Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data security best practices in all aspects of data handling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Public Health, Health Informatics, Statistics, Information Systems).
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a healthcare or nonprofit environment.
  • Proficiency in working with EHR systems and exporting/transforming healthcare data.
  • Candidate should be an Excel “Power user” with experience using Power Query. PowerPoint, knowledge of SQL and database systems needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and especially non-technical actors like clinicians.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • This is an in-person role.
