Position – Junior Electrical/Communications Engineer Reports to – Project Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science / Engineering (Electrical or Electronics/Communications preferred)
  • 0–3 years of engineering, construction, or commissioning experience
  • Internship or co-op experience in construction, electrical and/or communications design, facilities, or testing preferred
  • Recent graduates encouraged to apply
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain & OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety (preferred)
  • Occasional night or weekend work to support system shutdowns, testing, and facility cutovers
  • Ability to walk construction sites and access mechanical and electrical equipment rooms
  • Ability to climb ladders and access elevated equipment locations
  • Ability to work in active construction environments

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development and execution of commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation
  • Support pre-functional and functional testing of electrical, controls, and communications systems, as well as mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Perform field inspections and verification of equipment installation and system performance
  • Assist with commissioning documentation including checklists, test reports, and issue tracking logs
  • Coordinate with contractors, design teams, facility owners, and agency representatives
  • Participate in system start-up and integrated systems testing
  • Assist in review of submittals, O&M manuals, and training documentation
  • Support preparation of final commissioning reports
  • Maintain project tracking tools and commissioning schedules
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and ability to learn other software and PMIS applications (Facility Grid, Procore, Unifier, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate as a valued team member with colleagues and clients of all levels.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Work well with a team and individually.
  • Familiarity with Construction industry codes.
  • Responsive to Client and other KSE Manager/ needs, and all other duties as assigned.
