Junior Java Legacy Developer
About The Position
The Junior Java Developer will assist with maintaining and supporting enterprise Java applications within a secure federal technology environment. The developer will work with senior engineers to support mission-critical systems while gaining experience with enterprise application development and system integration. This role focuses on supporting established Java environments and assisting with incremental system improvements. Candidates must hold an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Fortuna is an active member of multiple California service agreements, including the CMAS, ITMSA (Tier 2), and CalPERS SpringFed Pool, as well as multiple municipalities and large corporation vendor pools.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–4 years of Java development experience
- Familiarity with Java development frameworks
- Basic experience with relational databases
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining enterprise Java applications
- Develop application components using Java and related technologies
- Support application testing, debugging, and issue resolution

- Participate in code reviews and development planning
- Support documentation and development processes
