About the position

We are seeking a Junior Marketing Attorney to join the Athletes First Family. This is a full-time position located at either our New York, New York office or our Laguna Hills, California headquarters, reporting to our Associate General Counsel. Compensation and title will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate sponsorship, media sales, marketing, and broadcasting contracts, including endorsement, appearance, trading card, memorabilia, licensing, event sponsorship and other similar agreements for athletes, coaches, broadcasters, and other celebrities.
  • Work on behalf of our owned and operated events, collaborating directly with our Talent Marketing, Properties, Media Sales, and Broadcasting division staff under the supervision of our Associate General Counsel.
  • Assist the Associate General Counsel and General Counsel with various other internal and external legal matters as needed.
  • Manage and maintain contract submission, tracking and filing system.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Member of New York or California State Bar (or other major state bar association) preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm or in an in-house legal department.
  • Experience at a top-tier law firm preferred.
  • Experience in sports or entertainment law preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, internal business partners, and counterparties.
  • Demonstrated dedication with the ability to independently lead projects from origin through execution.
  • Ability to work full-time hours, which includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
