About The Position

Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking to hire a driven Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Environmental Scientist with 2-7 years of experience to support Hana’s environmental portfolio of projects in both government and commercial sectors. This full-time, Ashland-based role offers hands-on fieldwork, technical development, and opportunities to grow into project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • 2 – 7 years of relevant environmental experience, including at least 2 years of direct field work.
  • Current HAZWOPER training and certification (40-hour with annual refreshers)
  • Demonstrated experience with environmental investigation processes.
  • Familiarity with environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% annually, with 50%+ travel expected during peak field seasons (summer/fall). All travel expenses are company-covered.
  • Ability to gain access to military bases and other federal facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RCRA and CERCLA processes
  • EPA CLP Scribe experience

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in the execution of environmental projects across investigation, remediation and monitoring programs.
  • Conduct and lead field investigations, including logging of soil and rock, monitoring well installation and development, sampling of soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, soil gas, drinking water, and building materials, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, such as UFP-QAPP/Work Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and Investigation Reports.
  • Collaborate with technical teams across multiple offices to solve complex problems, prepare plans and specifications, and engage with clients and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to proposals, contractor bid evaluations, scopes of work, and budget input.
  • Support QA/QC reviews and document development alongside senior technical staff.
