About The Position

Global K9 Protection Group LLC is looking for a dedicated and passionate Kennel Manager to serve as an integral part of the GK9PG Team. Primary Position Objectives: • Management of the daily operations for working dog kennels to include staff. • Oversee and assist with all aspects of Kennel technician Management and canine wellness • Coordination of hiring, training, and supervising kennel staff • Prepare and manage weekly work schedules • Enforcing kennel policies and procedures • Ensuring kennels, crates, and the overall facility is sanitized on a regular basis • Ensuring the animals are groomed, fed, exercised, and cared for • Monitoring the behavior of animals • Assist with kennel sanitation and canine care requirements

Responsibilities

  • Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
  • Feed animals as prescribed by Company Veterinarian
  • Assist Veterinarians, Veterinarian and assigned Kennel Technicians
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kennel area each day
  • Has the ability to communicate with staff members.
  • Can follow a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing kennel area, and all cages, runs, wards and related areas; changes litter boxes and food/water bowls.
  • Can feed, maintain positive control, and handle high drive working dogs
  • Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts.
  • Can collect urine and fecal specimens.
  • Can recognize and report any unusual condition or abnormal behavior.
  • Can assist doctors and kennel manager with the administration of medications or with patient restraint.
  • Cleans equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies; understands the importance of safety of use of chemicals in our facility.
  • Understands and carries out the daily, weekly, and monthly chore list to maintain the hospital cleanliness, the equipment, and overall appearance of the kennel technician area.
  • Understands and carries out oral and written directions.
  • Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.
  • Assist other employees as needed. Avoid waiting for coworkers to ask for assistance.
  • Participate in your performance appraisal, and as requested, in those of others.
  • Participate in all staff and training meetings.
  • Be willing and able to teach other staff members kennel skills.
  • Maintain constant vigilance regarding open doorways that could allow working dogs to escape from the facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Proficient in Microsoft sharepoint, excel, and word payroll systems, and internal systems.
  • Assisting in the tracking of all canine movements in and out of the facility.
  • Ensure daily kennel technician scheduled shifts are staffed.
  • Maintain monthly feed, weight, and canine preventative sheets are complete.
  • Update monthly supply inventory and supply request reports.
