About The Position

As Marqeta’s Key Account Manager, you will partner with a cross-functional team and manage one of our global strategic accounts. You will bring a strong track record of growth and deep relationship-building experience to provide exceptional client service, uncover revenue-generating opportunities and workable solutions to your customers. You persistently explore and uncover the business needs of your customer to understand how our product offerings can grow their business. We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States or from our Oakland or New York City offices. We'd love for you to join us! NOTE: if you are based within 35 miles of our Oakland, California, New York City (Midtown) or London (Holborn) office, you will be expected to be in-office 2 days / week. You understand the payments space deeply, particularly Card Issuing & Processing. Numbers Fanatic: You model, plan, and monitor a path to growth (new products, business lines, geographies) based on the right data. Strategic Connector: Our customers and partners rely deeply on the expertise and knowledge of our Account Managers. You excel at supporting cross-functional efforts and love connecting people and ideas to drive innovation. Curious Questioner: Your passion for knowledge and learning drives you to constantly dig deeper to understand your customers, Marqeta, our technology, and the industry in general Thoughtful Challenger: As a trusted partner leading with insights, you push yourself, the team, and your customers to think outside of the box and find creative solutions to strategic challenges.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Global Account Management experience in the payments space
  • Proven experience growing and scaling strategic accounts and building multi stakeholder relationships.
  • Extensive knowledge in fintech, banking, payments and money movement
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation written, email) and track record of creating and executing strategic account plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others in a matrix environment, gaining buy-in at multiple levels across the organization.
  • Positive attitude, team player, adaptable, resourceful, and self-starter who is able to lead team independently.
  • Strong grasp of industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Hands on experience in negotiating contracts, pricing models and renewals.
  • Proven track record of cross selling and upselling and ability to identify new revenue streams based on customer needs.
  • Experience leading business reviews and using data driven strategies to make informed decisions.
  • Proven experience growing and scaling strategic or enterprise accounts.
  • Proven track record of managing global customers with multi region stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of cross-selling and upselling, and ability to identify new revenue streams based on customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others in a matrix environment, gaining buy-in at multiple levels across the organization.
  • Experience leading business reviews and using data-driven strategies to make informed decisions.
