Kids Club - On-site Babysitting (Weekday and/or Weekend)
About The Position
Do you have time available in the mornings - 1 or more mornings a week? Are you looking to make a difference in the community? Do you love working with children, from babies up to school-age? Are you seeking flexible part-time, meaningful work? Kids Club at the New Canaan YMCA is the place for you! We are seeking individuals who have experience workign with children to join our Kids Club team, an on-site babysitting service for members of the New Canaan Y, that runs 7 days a week, 8:15 am to 12:15pm (staff shifts are from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm) Candidates do not need to be available every day of the week for the position, although consistent availability is preferred. Seeking weekday and/or weekend availability Many opportunities in children's programming arise in our center - so join now and see where this opportunity can take you! Kids Club is available for children 6 months and older (children must be able to sit up on their own), while parents/guardians remain on the premises. We are looking for caring and energetic staff to provide safe oversight and engagement with all children and families utilizing the program. All New Canaan YMCA staff get COMPLIMENTARY membership to our facility, so this is a great way to earn some extra money and get you onsite so you can enjoy a workout after your shift is over!
Requirements
- Candidates should: be 18 years of age or older
- be able to commit to 8 - 10 hours a week.
- Experience in babysitting and/or childcare environment (min 2 years preferred)
- Infant/toddler through early elementary school age experience preferred
- Demonstrate ability to care for young children and take responsibility in their role.
- Have confidence to take control and make sound decisions easily.
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing environment for the children in their care.
- Supervise the children, playroom, and activities to create a fun and inviting space.
- Monitor check in/check out information and contact information in case parent/guardian must be reached.
