About The Position

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a part-time Kitchen Assistant for the Birmingham Area Command, located in Birmingham, AL. Pay: $10/hr This position is responsible for : Cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes; sweeps, mops, and waxes floors. Key Responsibilities: Assists in serving meals ensuring appropriate proportions are provided. Stocks foods, beverages, and supplies in an orderly and safe manner. Empties trash cans. Pay starts at $10/hr. What We Look For In You One year experience working in a kitchen preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques. Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of meals. Ability to wash dishes and kitchen appliances. Ability to clean the kitchen and dining area. Works is performed in a normal kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers. Requirements
