About The Position

We are seeking a qualified, energetic, and enthusiastic Kroger Category Analyst who is responsible for reporting, analyzing, and presenting key insights across retail categories to help drive informed decisions and influence retailer strategies. The Analyst will drive growth and optimize existing distribution, merchandising, and pricing through strategic recommendations, particularly in the grocery space. The Analyst provides insights and data-driven recommendations to help achieve volume, market share and profit targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a consumer-oriented discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in analytics, retail merchandising, strategy, and/or execution, with experience in grocery categories and Kroger preferred; proficiency in 8451 required
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing and interpreting data, with strong ability to manage numerous data systems simultaneously, with intricate detail and acute organization
  • Understanding of market research tools (Circana or Nielsen Market Data), including syndicated data and trend analysis
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while successfully meeting and exceeding established goals and deadlines; manage work in a fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Strategic thinker with a strong attention to detail, data integrity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key internal and external stakeholders, clients and vendors to influence outcomes, with proven track record of contributing to teams in a variety of ways
  • Consistency in over-delivering expectations in all areas of work, specifically with clients, partners and in tactics and deliverables
  • Ability to offer an unbiased perspective and clear point of view

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Kroger buying team and internal sales teams to utilize category and consumer management insights to help drive overall product strategy
  • Utilize analytics skills to deliver insights on brand volume, market share, and profit objectives
  • Provide additional context and insight on shopper behavior and trends
  • Manage and leverage numerous data resources to help bring action and insight to the category to tell compelling stories with data and analytics, including syndicated data
  • Present key findings to internal and external customers in meaningful ways that are action-based and immediate
  • Work with various teams (both internally and externally) to drive change, troubleshoot issues and build processes and best practices
  • Offer creative solutions and ideas that exercise “thinking outside the box” to drive category growth and action
  • Provide a full spectrum of data analytics and reporting including,
  • Analysis of category level syndicated data
  • Weekly sales reporting
  • Competitive weekly review
  • Market share analysis
  • Seasonal recaps and trend reviews
  • Monthly reporting, dashboarding, and analytics
  • Assortment and supply chain analytics with actionable result or direction
  • Enterprise and digital strategy, execution, auditing and reviews
