Job Summary The Staff LVN is a licensed caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients under the supervision of the RN for a designated time frame. He/she is a clinical practitioner who implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the unit's standard of care/within scope of practice. The LVN functions as a member of the sterile team in creating and maintaining a sterile field and issuing instruments to surgeons and ensures the surgery suite is stocked and scrubs for surgeries. May be second assist for deliveries. Collects data for infant resuscitation, documents and other needs post-delivery. Is responsible for the safe handling of medications on the surgical sterile field under the direction of the Physician and RN Circulator.
