About The Position

Description Overview The Lab Automation Engineer II solves key workflow problems in large complex health systems. Supports a full technology stack of automated lab and software sequencing. Responsibility Design, implement, and test process automation using liquid handlers and other automated equipment. Utilize programming languages to integrate new or modifications to processes to the robotics software stack. Work cross-functionally with the science, lab, manufacturing, and maintenance teams. Design, deploy, and test liquid handler scripts and changes to custom automated work cells. Make impactful contributions to troubleshooting efforts, analyzing data and helping drive key process-related decisions. Develop automation related documentation for effective operation and maintenance of automated equipment. Travel to Myriad locations as needed during certain project phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, bioengineering, chemistry, or related field required.
  • 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in programming in at least two of the major liquid handling systems (Tecan, Beckman, Hamilton).
  • Experience with molecular biology lab processes.
  • Applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
  • Lifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching.
  • Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Software programming experience with Python, C#, or other languages is a plus.
