About The Position

The Project Manager II is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of client projects, including setup, sample receipt, progress tracking, reporting, and closure. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that projects are executed in alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements. The Project Manager II may manage a portfolio of and plays a key role in client retention, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Intermediate-level project management and client relationship skills in an environmental laboratory setting.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in LIMS, Microsoft Office, and project tracking tools.
  • Ability to train others and contribute to team development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or client services, preferably in a laboratory or technical services environment.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout laboratory and office environments.
  • Manual dexterity to operate and computer systems.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and environmental samples, using appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new clients, provide training on services, and ensure accurate setup in LIMS.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for client communications, addressing intermediate-level concerns and coordinating with internal teams for resolution.
  • Monitor project status, sample receipt, and analysis progress to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Review project deliverables for quality and compliance with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations to identify upsell opportunities and support contract renewals.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular check-ins and proactive communication.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, highlighting risks, issues, and progress.
  • Lead project closure activities, including final deliverables, invoicing, and post-project evaluation.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to process improvements.
  • Train and mentor junior project management staff as needed.
