About The Position

Your Job: The LIS Analyst is a Medical Technologist who is responsible for department aspects of the Epic Beaker, WellSky, and Data Innovations software solutions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, testing of hardware and software, maintenance and support, and training of employees. The LIS Analyst must demonstrate excellent laboratory technical skills, information technology skills, critical thinking skills, and customer service skills. Requirements

  • MT(ASCP) or equivalent
  • Blood Bank and WellSky Experience
  • 3 years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Comfortable working remotely and traveling to lab sites
  • A high level of critical thinking and complex problem solving are required
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of team work and change management principles

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and test functionality related to Beaker CP and AP, Data Innovations middleware, and WellSky.
  • Provides on-call support for all Methodist hospital labs for issues relating to these applications during non-business hours.
  • Create, test, and document new build, workflows, changes, etc., following established change control procedures.
  • Implement efficient workflow design using clinical and system knowledge.
  • Interacts with vendors as needed to ensure successful implementations.
  • Coordinates implementation schedule with all involved parties (requestor, other Epic teams, vendors, IT, etc.).
  • Assist other application teams in the assignment of security roles and troubleshooting of security issues.
  • Manages and coordinates projects involving lab with other Epic and IT teams.
  • Manage help desk tickets, phones calls, emails, etc. from other analysts, leadership, vendors, and users.
  • Communicate with customers to understand requests and develop a plan of action.
  • Assesses requests for feasibility, considering policies and procedures, clinical workflow, and system possibilities.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple requests while still meeting deadlines.
  • Works well independently and develops innovative ideas to resolve issues and requests.
  • Communicates with LIS coordinator, lab leadership, IT, Health Informatics, and users to develop comprehensive solutions.
  • Maintains LIS system records, procedure manuals, and other documentation.
  • Prepare performance improvement reports for LIS activities.
  • Reviews updates for Beaker, Data Innovations, and WellSky to determine impact on users.
  • Validates and documents changes to communicate with leadership and users.
  • Performs other related procedures that are consistent with qualifications, training, and experiences as requested by department or hospital administrative personnel.
  • Monitors end users to evaluate training needs, providing tip sheets and formal training as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
