About The Position

As a core member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be expected to: Perform, determine, apply and test procedures or processes of standard and non-standard tests. Use methods and concepts of chemistry/microbiology to test, analyze & locate operational / customer concerns and recommend corrective action. Participate in plant inspection programs. Support the production of safe, high quality products and team member safety. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent AND
  • Completion of 2 years of a bachelor’s degree program in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or related field AND/OR
  • AAS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field AND/OR
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Food or Healthcare Lab
  • Perform basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Perform basic measurements using scales, liquid measures
  • Able to taste and handle dairy products and other ingredients that may contain allergens
  • Basic computer proficiency including dataentry into Word & Excel
  • Availability to work a variable schedule on occasion to cover other team member time off
  • Able to handle chemicals and exposure to environmental allergens
  • Basic science/lab skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a Team
  • Accuracy, close attention to details.
  • Availability to work a variable schedule on occasion to cover other team member time off

  • NYS Ag & Markets Dairy license
  • Must be willing to be trained in the importance of Critical Control Points (CCP’s) and upon completion of the training, demonstrate knowledge of the Critical Control (CCP’s)
  • Willing to lead by example the Perry’s safety culture
  • Willing to inform TM’s of non-conforming events and help determine corrective action
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
