About The Position

The Student Laboratory Assistant supports the daily operations of the laboratory
focusing on routine testing in Serology, Bacteriology, and Feed Testing. The
assistant will prepare samples, maintain a clean lab environment, and handle
basic testing procedures under supervision, following established protocols and
safety standards.

Requirements

• Good organizational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety and handling protocols.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with team members.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Currently pursuing or completed a degree in a science-related field, such as Biology or Chemistry.

Nice To Haves

• Prior laboratory experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of samples for Serology, Bacteriology, and Feed testing.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pipetting, weighing, and grinding under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness of the lab and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized.
• Help manage inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and media.
• Support senior staff in routine laboratory testing and data recording.
• Follow safety protocols strictly to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in documentation for reports of routine tests.
• Perform other related duties as required, including potential assistance in sample transport or external lab visits.
