About The Position

Start your career with one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest independent clinical and anatomic laboratories, now expanding into Omaha! As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting diagnostic testing through accurate specimen processing and hands-on laboratory support. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to gain practical laboratory experience while contributing to patient care. Schedule Part-time; Saturday & Sunday 9:00pm – 1:00am

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 18 years of age
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn laboratory information systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable attendance and punctuality

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting

Responsibilities

Accurately receive, identify, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and prepare specimens for testing or transport
Maintain specimen integrity by following established handling, storage, and processing protocols
Enter patient and specimen data accurately into laboratory information systems
Assist Medical Technologists (MTs) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) with laboratory procedures, including plating samples and preparation work
Operate automated instruments and laboratory equipment; perform basic troubleshooting as needed
Participate in quality assurance initiatives and maintain required documentation (temperature logs, maintenance logs, etc.)
Stock supplies, manage inventory, sanitize work areas, and maintain organized workspaces
Answer phones and communicate professionally with team members and clients
Follow all safety standards, HIPAA guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Maintain strong working relationships with laboratory team members to promote efficiency and collaboration
Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and punctual attendance
Adapt to evolving workflows and support operational needs as volumes grow
