Laboratory Tech 6 (Metallography Evaluation)
About The Position
ATI is currently seeking a Lab Technician (6) for Metallography Evaluation in our Monroe, NC facility. This position is a crucial step as the technician will be evaluating samples throughout the day by microscope to meet industry standards, making sure all materials are compliant before delivery to the customer. As a lab technician, you will be evaluating metallographic samples under a microscope against industry standards and company specifications, entering results into the computer, and releasing final results for certification. A successful lab technician should show attention to detail, be self-motivated, be quality-oriented, have good communication skills, and work well within a team.
Requirements
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and follow written procedures
- Required to pass In-dept vision screening
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
- Previous experience in quality assurance is a plus
Responsibilities
- Become certified as a Level II Ultrasonic C-scan technician
- Prepare C-scan samples utilizing a saw and/or lathe
- Schedule and prioritize samples
- Troubleshoot problems
- Engage in activities that promote growth in knowledge necessary to perform essential tasks
- Assist in routine Laboratory operations and/or perform other work as directed
- Perform normal mechanical servicing and minor repairs of equipment
- Maintain work areas in a clean orderly condition
