SUMMARY: The Laboratory Technician performs clinical laboratory testing by receiving samples, preparing samples for testing, and using lab analyzers. Interacts with other staff members for training and data analysis. Communicates with Laboratory Manager, staff, and reference labs as outlined. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Follows lab procedures for specimen handling and processing, reporting, and maintaining records. Adheres to all lab quality control policies and documents all quality control activities. Understands and adheres to HIPPA regulations and requirements at all times. Follows established safety standards and procedures and complies with legal regulations. Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. Analyzes lab results to provide immediate feedback as indicated. Ensures proper inventory management of laboratory supplies. Trains new hires to ensure lab procedures are followed. Reports to work on time for all scheduled shifts and completes entire shift, Performs other duties as assigned.
