About The Position

This Lab Tech 2 position is responsible for providing high quality customer service to ensure timely and accurate specimen handling throughout the respective laboratory sections, includes internal and external customers (i.e. clients, physicians, patient care services staff, allied health staff care services personnel and DPLM coworkers) while working in a fast-paced environment. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Biological Science or related field of study and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training or
  • Associate's Degree and 1-2 years experience Phlebotomy or lab experience; student lab experience at CMH may be considered as experience or
  • HS diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years experience 5 years in the lab at CMH or related experience also qualifies

Responsibilities

  • Specimen handling and distribution
  • Use of Information Systems
  • Specimen collection (phlebotomy and SWCL) in accordance with CMH policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with CMH shared values and service excellence programs
  • Performance of waived to moderate complexity testing and reporting; and/or specimen processing and preparation under appropriate supervision, following in-depth training and competency assessment procedures (as assigned).
  • Maintains general operations of the laboratory performs quality assurance activities
