The Special Chemistry Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing high‑quality analytical testing using LC‑MS/MS instrumentation. This role includes preparing and analyzing patient samples for LC-MS/MS testing. The Laboratory Technologist ensures accurate and timely results by following established SOPs, maintaining strict quality and regulatory standards, and performing routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. The Laboratory Technologist will work in but not limited to Cytogenetics, Genetics or Infectious Disease (ID): Clinical laboratory to perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Ensures all medical laboratory safety standards and quality requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel. Must utilize critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or other related field that includes 30 combined semester hours of biological science and chemistry required.

  • Demonstrated lab experience, including but not limited to college laboratory experience preferred
