Basic Job Functions:The Ladle Crane utility is responsible for the safe operation of the cab operated cranes in the center isle of the melt shop. Basic responsibilities include but are not limited to moving both full and empty ladles around the ladle isle, stocking material for general operations, making other miscellaneous moves related to both production and maintenance and assisting in other areas of the melt shop when needed. The ladle crane utility will also be required to be cross-trained as an alloy handler to fill in as needed. Must be able to pass a depth perception test. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of overhead cab crane operating experience
  • Must be able to pass a depth perception test

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Hot Metal Cab Crane Operating experience.
  • Prior heavy equipment experience
