About The Position

Our Marine Service & Warranty Center provides advanced technical support and service solutions to uphold the performance, safety, and reliability standards of Invincible Boats and Yellowfin Yachts. Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Lamination & Finishing Technician to join our Marine Service & Warranty Center. This role is responsible for performing high-quality fiberglass lamination, gelcoat repair, structural reinforcement, and finishing work on boats undergoing warranty repair, refurbishment, or service upgrades. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in fiberglass repair and finishing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to restore vessels to factory-level cosmetic and structural standards while maintaining strict safety and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in fiberglass lamination and gelcoat finishing.
  • Strong experience with sanding, grinding, gelcoat application, polishing, and surface preparation.
  • Familiarity with fiberglass materials, resins, catalysts, and composite repair techniques.
  • Ability to perform structural and cosmetic repairs independently.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a boat manufacturing facility, marine service center, or composite repair environment.
  • Experience repairing high-performance offshore fishing boats or similar vessels.
  • Familiarity with warranty repair documentation and service tracking systems.
  • Experience mentoring or assisting junior technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fiberglass lamination, structural repairs, and reinforcement using appropriate materials and techniques.
  • Conduct gelcoat repairs including color matching, blending, sanding, and polishing to restore factory-quality finishes.
  • Perform non-skid deck repairs and refinishing to match original textures and appearance.
  • Repair or rebuild fiberglass components including hatches, consoles, lids, and structural areas.
  • Prepare surfaces for lamination and finishing by grinding, sanding, cleaning, and masking.
  • Apply resins, fiberglass mat, woven roving, and other composite materials according to repair specifications.
  • Complete cosmetic finishing work including sanding, buffing, polishing, and final detailing.
  • Inspect repairs to ensure structural integrity and visual quality meet company standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repair work, materials used, and service records.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Warranty teams, and management regarding repair progress and findings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
