About The Position

Chevron is accepting online applications for the Land Representative position through March 11th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ([Time Zone]). The Land representative position negotiates, drafts, executes, and manages new and existing Land agreements. Initiates and develops Land strategies and asset monetization tactics through portfolio analysis, competitive intelligence, and external relationships with landowners, industry counterparts, government agencies, and communities. Acquires, maintains, and divests land assets. Supports medium sized clients/ customers and makes significant contributions to more complex, cross-functional projects under periodic supervision. Manages land brokers, title attorneys, and land support personnel. General knowledge of the work function and Chevron’s practices.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years related industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Possess strong negotiation and drafting skills; experience recognizing, analyzing, and resolving difficult negotiating situations.
  • Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group to achieve project related goals.
  • Creative, solutions-oriented thinker.
  • Ability to build and influence both internal and external relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Quorum Land Systems (QLS) experience
  • Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Energy Commerce, Business, or an advanced degree in Law (J.D.) or MBA from accredited institutions

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the land subject matter expert on cross functional teams.
  • Serve as lead negotiator for leasing projects associated with business plans.
  • Compile, analyze, and communicate land data and concepts.
  • Negotiate and draft various oil and gas agreements (i.e., leases, pooling agreements, operating agreements (JOAs), etc.).
  • Issue title clearances/perform title curative work for rig lines.
  • Effectively provide work direction to field land brokers and outside legal counsel.
  • Advise land support personnel to maintain land records system.
  • Make risk-based business recommendations and clearly articulate value tradeoffs.
