The Role: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Project Manager - Land Survey to support our Survey & Mapping Team in Southern California. In this role, you will lead surveying and mapping projects supporting major infrastructure and transportation initiatives. You will oversee project delivery, guide technical survey teams, and manage client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in California
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible land surveying and mapping experience (transportation experience preferred)
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office, and Teams
  • Familiarity with state and county mapping requirements and regulatory standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management efforts including scope development, fee proposals, schedules, and contract negotiations
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to survey staff, CAD drafters, and subconsultants
  • Manage survey projects including transportation design surveys, right-of-way engineering and mapping, construction surveys, ALTA surveys, and topographic mapping
  • Oversee boundary resolution, records of survey, legal descriptions, and GPS control surveys
  • Support marketing initiatives including proposal preparation, presentations, and responses to RFPs and RFQs
  • Mentor and develop staff to support professional growth and team development
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships throughout the Southern California market
