About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a Gas Technician to work outdoors while learning advanced skills like HDPE pipe fusion, pneumatic pump maintenance, and gas system monitoring. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours per week with occasional Saturdays Pay: $21–$25 DOE Responsibilities Include: Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance Maintain relationships with landfill employees, consultants, and vendors Use gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes Perform maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including removal, inspection, and repairs Monitor liquid levels in gas wells HDPE pipe fusion Position Requirements: Ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision Coachable and able to learn safe landfill navigation Willingness to work outdoors for most of the day Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks Provide on-call response to gas collection system Experience with hand and power tools Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to collect, interpret, and draw conclusions from data Veterans encouraged to apply Ideal Candidates Will Possess: Experience with leachate collection systems Successful candidates will enjoy field service work in an environment built on operational excellence and accountability. Requirements
