About The Position

Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Landfill Liquid & Gas Technician to join the team in Castaic, CA! The schedule will be Monday-Friday. Weekend work and overtime is often required. Shift is 7am-4:30 or 5pm. The pay range for this position is $32-34/hour, depending on experience. Requirements

• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
• Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
• Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Equipment operating experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and repair leachate or water pump by lifting and lowering 100 foot long cables
• Assembling new parts on existing pumps
• Checking, monitoring and cleaning gas wells
• Reading and keeping track of gas well data
• Operating small pieces of equipment such as backhoe
• Working with team and contract employees
• Working outside in all weather conditions.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
