DLR Group has an opening for a Landscape Architect 1 in: Phoenix, AZ As part of our integrated design teams, you will support the planning, design, and documentation of creative, sustainable, functional, and economical landscape solutions for a diverse group of clients. This role collaborates closely with architects, engineers, planners, and other disciplines to ensure site designs are fully integrated with the overall project vision. Role Summary The Landscape Architect 1 is responsible for supporting landscape design efforts through analysis, planning, design development, and technical documentation. This role applies foundational landscape architecture knowledge, develops software and technical skills, and actively participates in integrated team collaboration to deliver high-quality project outcomes. What You Will Do The successful candidate will: Collaborate with architects, engineers, planners, and clients as part of DLR Group’s integrated design process. Assist in the planning, analysis, and design of landscape architecture projects through all phases of design and documentation. Develop site layouts, landscape plans, hardscape plans, irrigation concepts, and construction details under guidance. Create and coordinate drawings and project documents using Autodesk CAD and BIM-based workflows. Apply DLR Group practice standards, QA/QC procedures, and document standards to project assignments. Participate in design discussions and contribute ideas in pursuit of design excellence. Support coordination efforts, including BIM standards application and clash detection resolution. Provide project deliverables that meet established schedules and task-level work plans. Incorporate sustainability principles and low-impact design strategies into landscape solutions. Seek out feedback, ask questions, and actively build technical, design, and professional skillsets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 0–5 years of professional experience in landscape architecture or related site design work.
  • Experience with Autodesk CAD-based workflows and project production.
  • Working knowledge of landscape documentation and construction drawing standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Site master planning experience.
  • Familiarity with LandFX, ArcGIS, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Exposure to Civil 3D, BIM (Revit), Lumion, or Enscape.
  • Introductory experience with site grading, drainage concepts, and site construction materials.
  • Experience or interest in sustainable and low-impact landscape design.
  • Knowledge of regionally appropriate native and adaptive plant materials.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Appreciation for and understanding of interdisciplinary collaboration within an integrated design environment.
