About The Position

The Landscaper is tasked with providing maintenance and care to all Messiah Lifeways grounds. The Landscaper is responsible for providing an attractive, comfortable, and safe environment for all Messiah Lifeways residents and team members. The Landscaper completes daily tasks and seasonal projects assigned by the Grounds Coordinator/Grounds Manager. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have knowledge of/experience in the following: Strong Initiative and Work Ethic –Takes a proactive approach to daily duties, displays motivation, and maintains a positive attitude toward work and responsibilities. Proficient technology skills - Office Suite ( Microsoft) and work order management technology Proficient interpersonal skills - Able to communicate effectively, representing the organization in a professional and engaging manner

Requirements

• Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong Initiative and Work Ethic –Takes a proactive approach to daily duties, displays motivation, and maintains a positive attitude toward work and responsibilities.
• Proficient technology skills - Office Suite ( Microsoft) and work order management technology
• Proficient interpersonal skills - Able to communicate effectively, representing the organization in a professional and engaging manner

Responsibilities

• Carries out all requests as assigned.
• Lawn mowing
• Weed whacking/string trimming
• Snow/ice removal
• Mulching
• Tree and shrubbery trimming/pruning
• Weeding
• Trash/recycling collection
• Room and outdoor set up support involving setting tables, chairs, etc., for special functions
• Routine maintenance duties as requested by residents or departments
• Ensure that building entrances remain aesthetically pleasing and functional. Maintenance of building entrances includes, but is not limited to, debris clean-up, seasonal decorating, weather related emergencies, etc.
• Ensure the safety and aesthetics of our outdoor campus spaces. Issues or concerns that arise should be reported to the Grounds Manager if the Grounds Assistant is not able to independently find resolution.
• Helping with on-call coverage of all weather-related emergencies.
• Must be willing to alter work schedules to accommodate special needs such as snow plowing/removal.
