About The Position

We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for a TGC Crew Leader ready to step into a leadership role. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leading and working outdoors on beautiful properties, mentoring and collaborating with crew members. Our crews engage in regenerative landscaping practices, including soil enhancement, plant care (weeding, pruning, transplanting), new plantings, hardscape installation and maintenance, and long-term landscape stewardship. Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in professional fine gardening, landscape maintenance, or landscape installation and show previous supervisory experience
  • Passionate about Gardens and Plants: A deep respect for diverse gardens and plant varieties, with a strong interest in environmental sustainability and ecosystem management.
  • Driving and Tool Operation: Confident and safe driver with a clean driving record and experience in operating various tools and equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and guide team members effectively and kindly in daily operations.
  • Detail-Oriented Documentation: Skilled in accurately documenting job tasks and materials for invoicing and project tracking.
  • Professional Experience: Background in professional landscaping with a keen appetite for continued learning and skill development.
  • Versatile Work Environment: Experience working in diverse and highly gardened environments, providing individualized care for unique garden settings.
  • Continuous Learning: Committed to ongoing learning and applying plant identification and care strategies.
  • Communication: Ability to excel in written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact with clients kindly and manage relationships effectively and positively within the landscape crews. Ability to be highly articulate and collaborative with FG Account Manager, FG Project Manager, & Client Contract Manager to ensure clients are served at the highest efficacy.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail, as shown by a commitment to high scheduling engagement and resilience to changes due to team call-outs, equipment issues, and weather fluctuations.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to proficiently work with the Google Suite, email using TGC conventions, photo management, text and phone proficiency.
  • Gardening Knowledge: Intermediate proficiency in Fine Gardening best practices and décor planting and care skills, intermediate pruning skills, and a willingness to engage in daily training and mentoring of staff while engaging in hands-on gardening work.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle various tasks and projects flexibly and collaboratively to keep a positive and highly relational work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Effectively lead and guide team members in daily operations, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment. Foster strong connections with coworkers to ensure cohesive and efficient teamwork.
  • Client Interaction: Professionally engage with clients in person and via email, ensuring clear, courteous, and responsive communication. Address client needs and inquiries with a high level of service.
  • Detail-Oriented Documentation: Accurately document job tasks and materials, ensuring precise data submission for client invoicing. Maintain meticulous notes so we have year-over-year documentation about the property.
  • Driving and Tool Operation: Adhere to all safety protocols while driving, always keeping public safety and company reputation in mind. Encourage careful use and maintenance of tools by all crew members to ensure a safe and effective work environment and a long-lasting inventory of trucks, tools, and equipment.
  • Versatile Work Environment: Navigate and perform effectively in diverse and highly gardened environments, providing individualized care tailored to each garden’s unique characteristics and each client’s expectations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay committed to ongoing learning and professional development. Apply new plant identification and care strategies to enhance garden maintenance and support design intent.
  • Project Support: Crew leaders may be assigned to project installations based on their skill sets and interests. Projects may include pick-up, delivery and mobilization support, site work, grading, drainage, hardscape and/or plant installation, mulching, and landscape rescue operations.
